Dr Asanka Wijesinghe (Dr Ash)


Dr Asanka Wijesinghe ( Ash) is a vocationally qualified and experienced male General Practitioner, having completed his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka 1998. He was awarded a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2018. In 2012 he completed a Masters in Science (Medical Toxicology) from the University of Colombo.
After practising as a General Practitioner in various hospitals and medical centres in Sri Lanka following his graduation, Ash migrated to Queensland, Australia in 2016 and joined Northern Beaches GP Super Clinic in Deeragun QLD before moving to the capital city Brisbane.

Dr Asanka has special interests in Mental Health, Geriatrics, General Medicine (Travel Medicine, Chronic disease management and preventative health care), Musculoskeletal disorders, Employment & Workcover Medicals, Minor Skin Procedures, Men’s Health, Children’s & Women’s Health (including Contraception, Implanon insertion and removal).

Dr Asanka speaks Sinhalese in addition to English.
