Dr Kalinga (Karl) Herath graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 2004. After his initial training in Sri Lanka, Dr Kalinga practiced at his own Medical Centre in Sri Lanka until 2013 before migrating to Darwin, Australia in 2014, where he has been practicing since prior to moving to Melbourne. He was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2016.
Dr Kalinga continued to further his interest in skin cancer and has completed a diploma in dermatology from the Australian Institute of Dermatology, as well as a professional diploma in skin cancer surgery from the University of Queensland. He also has a Professional Certificate in Aesthetic Medicine from UQ and a Professional Certificate in Musculoskeletal Medicine from the Australian Association of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Dr Kaling practices in the broad scope of General Practice. In addition, he carries out Skin Cancer Checks and complex Skin Cancer procedures, including Skin Flaps and Grafts, Joint Injections and Corto Steroids, PRP and Prolotherapy, and Iron Infusions.
Dr Kalinga is proficient in English and Sinhalese.
