Dr Waseema Tabassum completed her Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery degree (BMBS) from Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Hyderabad, India in 2009. After her completing her initial training and practicing in India she moved to Australia in 2015. She then worked across several Hospitals in Victoria including Western Health, Ballarat Health and Werribee Mercy Hospital. In February 2019 she commenced her General Practice training in rural Victoria and has been practicing as her General Practitioner in Tarneit and Prahran. Dr Waseema was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in February 2021.
She is a strong advocate of General practice, and enjoys the experience of providing supervision to medical students, supporting them through mentoring, expand on their knowledge about general practice.
She has special interest in skin cancer checks, women’s health, mental health and chronic disease management.
Dr Waseema carries out procedures for IUD/Implanon, Iron Infusion, minor lumps and bumps removals.
She also speaks Hindi, Urdu, Telegu in addition to English.
