Albemarle Medical Practice is a private billing practice. Please speak with our reception staff if you would like a list of our practice fees.

Online repeat script and referral requests attract a fee of $25–$30 depending on the delivery method.

If you must cancel your appointment, we require 2 hours of notice.

• Standard appointment non-cancellation fee: $50.
• Long appointment non-cancellation Fee: $100.

Our standard appointment types have specific time allowances, so please book a longer consultation if required to be fair to other patients. This approach helps us maintain our commitment to providing each patient with the attention they deserve. Additionally, we appreciate your punctuality for appointments. Please note late arrivals may not be seen during busy periods.

We do standard 10 minute appointments. Some services like pap smears, health assessments, skin checks, or if you have a number of complex concerns to discuss with your GP, may need longer appointments.

Existing patients can request repeat scripts online through our website or the AMS app. This is suitable for regular medication, or medication prescribed to you within the last six months, and you can order multiple medications in one request. Requests are completed within 3 business days and attract a fee of $25–$30 depending on the delivery method.

Requests can no longer be made by phone or email. This service cannot be used for addictive medications such as opiates, psychostimulants (e.g. Ritalin) or medicinal cannabis – please book a consultation with your doctor for these.

Repeat specialist referrals can also be requested online. Mental Health Care Plans and imaging referrals require a telephone or in-person consultation.

To provide you with the best care, our doctors prefer face-to-face consultations in all instances. Telephone consultations are available where necessary and can be booked online or by calling reception on 02 9371 6000.

The practitioners adhere to the AMA code of Ethics regarding Privacy and Confidentiality, please be assured that your medical records and consultations are kept in the strictest confidence.

Please ask the reception team for a ‘transfer of medical records’ request. This can then be provided to your previous practice / doctor.

No. Our onsite pathology collection is available on Thursday and Friday between 8:00am and 12:00pm – no appointment necessary.

Work cover patients will be treated the same as regular patients. Please notify your employer before your first consultation so they may provide you with a claim number related to your current case. You can then make a booking online for a GP consult, which will be conducted via Telehealth (phone or video call) from within the safety of your own home.

Specialists typically require a referral letter from a GP. Please make a Telehealth appointment with a GP first to ask about a referral letter; your GP will advise you accordingly and if you are required to come into the practice.

Our communications Policy details how and when we receive and return telephone calls and electronic communication.

We will not disturb a doctor during a consultation. We will let the doctor know if a patient has contacted the practice for them and will respond appropriately.

Please note emails are there for administrative purposes. We will not disclose personal information over email and will not use this method to book or cancel appointments.

We may get in touch with you via SMS or email to update you with general information about our practice or health services for your information. Any generic email communication to you is done using only a name and email, for the purposes of these communications, please be advised that no further information is stored.

We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our service. We value your input, and any suggestion that you may have that could assist the practice in enhancing the quality of our service will be reviewed. If you have a problem we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to the Practice Manager or you may prefer to write to us. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. We believe that problems are best dealt within the practice.
