Effective 1st November 2025, our practice will fully bulk bill for all Medicare-eligible patients. Procedures and some services may continue to attract out-of-pocket fees. Please check with reception.

For Telehealth appointments, some doctors offer bulk billing while others charge private fees. We recommend calling our reception team to confirm billing details for your Telehealth appointment.

Patients without a current Medicare card will be charged an $80 fee for a standard consultation, which must be paid at the time of the consultation. Sunday and public holidays our standard fee would be $100. Longer appointments will incur additional fees. Some services, including medical screenings for work or vehicle licenses, cannot be billed to Medicare and will incur an additional fee.

If you cancel within 2 hours of your scheduled appointment time or do not attend your appointment, a non-attendance fee of $40.00 will apply.

Home visits are available at the doctor’s discretion to regular patients of this practice.

Policy

All patients are made aware that home and other visits are a suitable care alternative that is available both within and outside normal opening hours and that the provision of a home or other visit is determined by the patient meeting pre-determined eligibility criteria.

For regular patients whose circumstances are deemed not safe and/or reasonable, the practice ensures that there is an alternate system of care that these patients can access.

There are documented arrangements in place to exchange clinical details about patients to general practitioners who perform home and other visits on behalf of the patient’s regular practitioner, and to ensure that all off-site care provided is documented in the patient’s health record held in the practice.

Home and other visits are provided by appropriately qualified health professionals who have received information and advice about safety and security when conducting off-site visits.

Any anticipated costs associated with home visits or alternative care systems are discussed with the patient in advance.

We understand situations may arise where you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment. If this occurs, we respectfully ask you to provide a minimum of 2 hours notice before your appointment by cancelling your appointment via our online booking system or phoning our practice. We will happily reschedule your appointment.

If you cancel within the 2 hours or do not attend your scheduled appointment, a non-attendance fee of $40.00 will apply. If you have a cancellation fee, it will require payment before you can schedule another appointment.

Our doctors want to be available for your needs and the needs of all our patients. When a patient does not attend a scheduled appointment, another patient loses the opportunity to be seen.

We ask that patients make a booking ONLINE, though every effort will be made to fit patients in when possible.

We do standard 15-minute appointments.

Some services like pap smears, health assessments, skin checks, or if you have a number of complex concerns to discuss with your GP, may need longer appointments.

Test results are only given to the patient concerned by a doctor. However, you will generally be asked to make an appointment with your doctor to follow up.

Medical Certificates can be provided by your doctor following a consultation, unfortunately they cannot be backdated. Please try to present early in your illness should you require this service.

If you have visited our practice in the past twelve months, you can book a telehealth consultation. Please do so ONLINE. New patients must have a face to face consult with one of our GP’s in the first instance.

The practitioners adhere to the AMA code of Ethics regarding Privacy and Confidentiality, please be assured that your medical records and consultations are kept in the strictest confidence.

Please ask the reception team for a ‘transfer of medical records’ request. This can then be provided to your previous practice/doctor.

All pathology tests require a referral from your GP. We encourage you to have this ready when appearing at the pathology collection centre for your pathology test. Some pathology tests, such as pregnancy glucose tolerance testing, require you to book with pathology.

Work cover patients will be treated the same as regular patients. Please notify your employer before your first consultation so they may provide you with a claim number related to your current case.

Specialists typically require a referral letter from a GP. Please make an appointment with a GP first to ask about a referral letter; your GP will advise you accordingly. Please note, specialist referrals cannot be backdated, and you will need to discuss with your specialist any charges with them directly.

If you have had an x-ray the films can be collected at the reception desk for you to keep.  If you are referred to a specialist in relation to these x-rays you will need to take the films with you to your appointment.

All results must be reviewed by a GP before being given to the patient. In the event that your GP requests an appointment or specific information is to be given regarding your results, the practice nurse (or receptionist) will attempt to contact you either via text or phone call over supplied contact numbers on at least three occasions after which a registered mail is sent to the patient with the doctor’s consent. Should the matter be of urgency or importance, multiple attempts to contact you will be made and documented.

We may not always call you to give you test results, but if you don’t hear from us you are more than welcome to see one of our nurses or call for your results. Please be aware, test results are confidential and will only be given to you directly, unless you give permission for your doctor to communicate them to another person on your behalf.

Our practice is committed to preventative care and has a system of registering patients for recall for clinically significant results and preventative advice.  We also participate in the use of registers in national/state reminder systems. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time as appropriate. Please advise the receptionist / viz. your Patient Registration form if you do not wish to participate in these programs.

Our communications Policy details how and when we receive and return telephone calls and electronic communication.

We will not disturb a doctor during a consultation. We will let the doctor know if a patient has contacted the practice for them and will respond appropriately.

Please note emails are there for administrative purposes. We will not disclose personal information over email and will not use this method to book or cancel appointments.

We may get in touch with you via SMS or email to update you with general information about our practice or health services for your information. Any generic email communication to you is done using only a name and email, for the purposes of these communications, please be advised that no further information is stored.
