Dr Omar Farooq Abdullah Al-Mayoof graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from Basrah University, Iraq, 1997. After completing his initial post graduate training in various facilities in Iraq he moved to Dubai where he worked for 13 years in various facilities before moving to Australia in 2016. He has worked at Gladstone Hospital and then commenced general practice at Tannum Sands where he practiced from 2019 to 2025 before moving to Brisbane. As part of his professional development Dr Omar completed his MRCP from United Kingdom in 2010 and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Australia in 2025.

Dr Omar has special interests in chronic medical conditions including diabetes and coronary artery diseases, hypertension, osteoporosis, infectious disease, preventative health, travel vaccinations, mental health, child and women’s health and chronic respiratory health like COPD/Asthma.

Dr Omar also carries out Iron Infusion and simple procedures like I&D Skin Suturing and Venesection.

Dr Omar also speaks Arabic.
