Dr Sameera Joseph Kevitiyagala completed his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 2007. After completing his initial training and Practice in Sri Lanka, he moved to Bundaberg QLD in 2015. He continued his GP career in regional Queensland in Public Hospitals before joining General Practice in 2021. Dr Sameera completed his Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) Fellowship in 2021. He also holds a Diploma in Medical Microbiology from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
He has working experience in rural hospitals and General Practice and has moved to Victoria. His special interests include paediatrics, skin cancer checks, men’s and women’s health, allergies, cardiovascular and chronic disease management. He carries out iron infusions, minor skin procedures, Implanon and IUDs.
He enjoys watching and playing cricket and outdoor activities.
Dr Sameera speaks Sinhalese in addition to English.
