Dr Samina Kausar is an experienced gynaecologist with a special interest in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and aesthetic gynaecology. She is well versed in cervical cancer prevention strategies, including abnormal cervical smears management and colposcopies. She believes in compassionate and evidence-based care with women empowerment. To achieve this, she educates women and enables them to make the best choices for their care.
Dr Samina Kausar has worked as an obstetrician and gynaecologist for almost 20 years. She achieved her first postgraduate qualification in Pakistan (FCPS, Fellowship in Obs & Gynae), then moved to the UK and qualified as a member of the Royal College of Obs & Gynae (MRCOG UK), working there as a consultant Obs & Gynae before moving to Australia where she attained fellow of RANZCOG. Since then, she has been working as a consultant for Obs & Gynae in Victoria. She works as a consultant for Obs and Gynae in Western Health Melbourne, Victoria.
Along with her clinical expertise, Dr Samina is a very keen educator. Has formal qualification in medical education, PG Cert Med Education from Edge Hill University UK. Her special interest is in simulation training, and she is currently holding simulation training sessions for midwives and trainee doctors. Samina is also an educational supervisor for RANZCOG trainees. She is an active member of AAGL (American Association of Gynaecologic Laparoscopists), AGES (Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society), and ASUM (Australian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine), keeps herself regularly updated with recent advances in the speciality.
Dr Samina Kausar has experience managing various gynaecological problems for all age groups. She provides individualised care to women by understanding their needs through compassionate counselling with visual and web aids. Along with general gynaecology expertise, she has extended her wings towards aesthetic gynaecology services to address women’s unmet needs in this area.
