About Dr Yamanaka
Dr Yamanaka completed her Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2020, graduating with a perfect GPA. During her studies, she was recognised as the Dux of Clinical Skills and received the General Practice Award, reflecting her strong clinical abilities and commitment to patient care.
Following graduation, Dr Yamanaka completed her post-graduate resident training in Queensland, where she gained extensive experience managing acute medical conditions through regional Emergency Medicine placements. This experience strengthened her confidence in recognising and treating acutely unwell patients.
During her hospital training, Dr Yamanaka worked across multiple specialties, including:
- Cardiology
- General Surgery
- General Medicine
- Paediatrics
- Mental Health
- Women’s Health
- Dermatology
She later continued her professional development as an Advanced Trainee in Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Orthogeriatric Rehabilitation in both Brisbane and Sydney, gaining valuable experience caring for complex and elderly patients.
Dr Yamanaka is currently a RACGP Registrar who has successfully completed all fellowship examinations in the highest band and is in the final months of training, scheduled for completion in June 2026.
