Changes to Our Booking and Fee Collection Procedures
At NBMP, we are continually working to ensure smooth and efficient operations for the benefit of both our patients and staff. As part of this effort, we are introducing some important updates to our booking and fee collection procedures. These changes will help us maintain timely consultations and minimise the impact of missed appointments.
Fee Pre-Authorisation for Appointments
We will be gradually introducing a fee pre-authorisation process, which will be tied to the type of appointment you book (e.g., standard, long, or mental health consultations). This ensures that the correct time is reserved for your consultation and that fees are aligned with the appointment type. Please make sure to select the appropriate appointment type when booking, as inaccurate booking can lead to scheduling issues with your doctor.
If you receive a secure SMS link requesting pre-authorisation, please follow the instructions to provide your card details. If these details are not entered, the appointment will be automatically cancelled. Please note, no charges will be made until the consultation is complete, and if your consultation is bulk billed, the pre-authorisation will be cancelled. For any queries regarding fees or item numbers, we encourage you to discuss them with your doctor at the start of your consultation.
Updated Cancellation and No-Show Policy
Due to an increase in last-minute cancellations and no-shows, we are implementing a new cancellation/no-show fee policy for GP consults. Moving forward, a fee of $20 per 15-minute increment will apply (e.g., $20 for a standard appointment, $40 for a long appointment) if an appointment is missed or not cancelled in advance. This ensures that appointment slots are available to patients who need them and helps our practice continue operating smoothly.
For psychology appointments, our long-standing 24-hour cancellation policy remains in place, with the full appointment fee charged if this policy is breached.
Implementation and Contact Information
We understand these changes may take some time to adjust to, and we appreciate your patience as we roll out this system. If you experience any difficulties or have feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Any outstanding fees, whether for unpaid accounts or cancellation/no-show fees, will need to be settled before future appointments.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to improve our services and ensure that all patients receive the care they need.
