Dr Jiawei (Karen) Zhu graduated with her Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2017. She then started her medical career at Townsville Hospital followed by working at Mt Isa Hospital and Redcliffe Hospitals focusing in the areas of obstetrics and gynaecology before moving into General Practice. She was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2025.
Dr Karen enjoys all aspects of General Practice and has special interest in children’s and womens health, antenatal care, chronic disease management, and geriatric medicine.
She also carries out iron infusions, skin spot checks and simple excision, Implanon replacement, and antenatal shared care.
Dr Karen also speaks Mandarin.
