Dr Mai Yamanaka

Dr Mai Yamanaka is a general practitioner at Qualitas Medical Practice North Sydney with a special interest in allergy, iron infusion and skin checks. Patients across North Sydney and the lower North Shore value the warmth and empathy she brings to every consultation — she takes the time to genuinely listen and understand what matters to each patient.

Dr Yamanaka completed her medical degree (MD, Honours) in 2020, graduating with a perfect GPA, and was recognised as Dux of Clinical Skills and awarded the General Practice Award. She is now a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

She completed her postgraduate resident training in Queensland, building strong confidence recognising and managing acutely unwell patients through regional Emergency Medicine experience. During hospital training, she gained broad clinical experience across cardiology, general surgery, general medicine, paediatrics, mental health, allergy and dermatology, and went on to work as a Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Orthogeriatric Rehabilitation Advanced Trainee in Brisbane and Sydney before commencing GP training.

Dr Yamanaka welcomes patients of all ages and backgrounds and has an interest in all areas of general practice, with a particular focus on Allergy. She performs iron infusion, Implanon (contraceptive implant) insertion and removal, skin checks and skin biopsies.

Outside the clinic, Dr Yamanaka enjoys playing the violin and staying active through dance.
