Dr Nethpriya Wijethilaka is an experienced general practitioner who has gained a broad range of experience in the rural Australian health sector for the last six years in both hospitals and in general practice.
She graduated in Sri Lanka at the University of Ruhuna in 2010. She migrated to Australia to join her husband and she started working at Portland District Health and Ballarat Base Hospital in regional Victoria, She gained experience in different fields of medicine including Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Palliative Care, Paediatrics, Gynecology and Obstetrics. She also completed a post graduate Diploma in Child Health at Westmead Hospital.
She has joined the Australian General Practice Training Program (AGPT) as a general practice registrar and obtained a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
She enjoys all aspects of general practice and has special interest in chronic disease management, women’s health, child health, preventative health and minor surgeries.
Dr Wijethilaka is fluent in English and Sinhalese and consults full time at our clinic.
Outside of work, she likes to spend time gardening and being with her lovely twin boys and her husband.
