Dr Nurun Naher is our female general practitioner who has 30 years of medical practice experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1989 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australia College of General Practitioners. She has also completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DGO) and Advanced Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG Adv)
Before beginning work at Kuraby Station Surgery she worked in general practices in Rockhampton, Blackwater and Boonah. Prior to that she served the Rockhampton community at the Rockhampton Base Hospital for many years. Through Dr Naher’s work in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department and in general practice she has cared for the wellbeing of hundreds of local mums and babies. Dr Naher has practised as a doctor in many parts of the world including Asia, South America and the West Indies, and has taken an interest in all aspects of general medicine. This extensive travel and years of practice has armed Dr Naher with insight and expertise that is undoubtedly unmatched by many, especially in her area of special interest– women’s health (pregnancy, gynae, sexual and reproductive medicine).
