Dr Premila Hewage rejoined Modern Medical Balwyn in February 2024, bringing her 17 years of experience in general practice and Emergency medicine. She has a special interest in General Dermatology and Skin cancers, performing mole checks and minor skin surgeries, including cryotherapy, biopsy, and skin lesion excisions.
Dr Hewage holds an Advanced Diploma in Dermatology and Skin Cancer, making her an expert in the field.
Dr Hewage is highly experienced in women’s health, with a particular focus on HRT, contraceptives, Implanon insertion and removal, and Pap smear (Cervical Screening).
Areas of interest and specialty include General Dermatology: Eczema, Psoriasis, Dermatitis, Acne and Hair loss treatment, Skin Cancer Checks/Mole Checking, Mole Removal and Biopsy, Implanon Insertion and Removal, HRT and Contraceptive Prescription, Pap Smear/ Cervical Screening and Medical Management of Obesity

As a busy mother of four, Premila enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, and involving her kids in sports when she is not at work.
