Dr Shahead Chowdhury graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1995. With his keen interest in Diabetes he continued further research and education and completed his PhD in Diabetes at Kobe University School of Medicine in Japan. Having relocated, he began his career at James Cook University for 3 years as an Australian Research Council fellow before starting his medical career at the Townsville Hospital Health Services at various levels. He completed his GP training and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner (FRACGP) in 2018.
Apart from Diabetes, Dr Chowdhury has vast experience in paediatrics, men’s health, indigenous health and Veteran Affairs Health. He also carries out Iron Infusion, Uber Driving Medical Assessment, Ear Syringing and Minor Skin Procedures.
In addition to English, Dr Shahead also speaks Bangla.
