Dr Shamini Ramoo stands at the forefront of comprehensive women’s health and advocacy. Graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from UNSW in 2006, Shamini has since obtained a Fellowship with the RACGP in 2013, solidifying her commitment to excellence in general practice.

Driven by a passion for holistic care, Shamini has pursued diverse avenues of professional development, including a Diploma in Children’s Health, a Master’s degree in International Public Health (Hons), and a Master’s in Forensic Medicine. This multifaceted expertise positions Shamini as a versatile practitioner with a deep understanding of the intersectionality within the healthcare landscape.

With special interests in antenatal shared care and chronic disease management, Shamini is a trusted healthcare partner for women navigating the various stages of their lives. Her commitment to gender-based violence, encompassing both domestic and family contexts, is a testament to her advocacy for the well-being of her patients.

Shamini’s experience as a Staff Specialist for Parvan (Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect) underscores her dedication to addressing the unique healthcare needs of sexual assault victims. Her approach is characterised by providing trauma-informed specialist women’s health care, ensuring patients receive medical expertise and empathetic and supportive care.
