Professor Neil Spike

Prof Neil Spike graduated from the University of Queensland in 1978 and completed his internship at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. He worked as a solo GP in Brisbane for 12 years, and along side a successful academic career, he has continued his commitment to General Practice on a part time basis.  He has worked at Clayton Road Doctors since 2005 and his particular areas of clinical interest are child and adolescent health and counseling.

Since 1992, he has worked full-time in medical education, including in the Department of General Practice at Monash University (2002 – 2009) and head of department for 5 years.  He is currently Director of Medical Education and Training with VMA, where he develops and coordinates vocational GP training programs in the Melbourne region. He is also a Clinical Professor in the Department of General Practice, University of Melbourne.
