We are delighted to introduce and welcome Dr Oakar Tun to the Modern Medical Dandenong team. Dr Tun is a highly qualified and experienced General Practitioner, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice.

Dr Tun graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Medicine, Mandalay, Myanmar in 2010. Following his graduation, he honed his skills at Mandalay Hospital and Kantkaw Hospital in Myanmar. In 2014, Dr Tun moved to Australia to further his medical training and career.

His journey in Australia began at Peninsula Health, followed by various roles in Regional Victoria Hospitals. Dr Tun has extensive experience in General Practice, having served communities in Myrtle ford and Shepperton, VIC. In addition to his general practice experience, Dr Tun earned an Emergency Medicine Certificate from the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine in 2020.

Dr Tun’s dedication to professional development and patient care is evident in his recent achievement of being awarded a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2024.

Dr Tun has special interests in chronic disease management and men’s health. He is skilled in performing minor skin procedures and iron infusions, enhancing the range of services we offer to our patients.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr Tun is fluent in both English and Burmese, allowing him to effectively communicate with and support a diverse patient community.
