Dr Sameera completed his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the esteemed University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2007.
Since then, he has honed his skills through various roles in rural hospitals, General Practice, and international healthcare settings. His commitment to serving communities led him to Bundaberg, QLD, where he dedicated himself to providing high-quality care in public hospitals before transitioning to General Practice in 2021.
In addition to his medical degree, Dr Sameera holds a Diploma in Medical Microbiology from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He recently achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2021, demonstrating his dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
Dr Sameera’s areas of special interest include paediatrics and Chronic Disease Management. He is proficient in a range of procedures, including Iron Infusions, minor Skin Procedures, and Implanon and IUD placements. Patients can trust in his expertise and compassionate approach to healthcare.
Furthermore, Dr Sameera is fluent in English and Sinhalese, ensuring effective communication and understanding with patients from diverse backgrounds.
